This delightful sacher-torte was invented by Franz Sacher, a 16 year old baker, supposedly in 1832 for Prince Metternich in Vienna. Almost 200 years of perfecting a traditional recipe to make this pastry renowned around the world.
Sacher-torte is a darkly rich chocolate cake, with thinly layered sweet apricot. Imagine the center is sponge-like, with fruity tones, covered in a buttery chocolate ganache for the perfect soft bite finish.
