It was a wonderful time to learn first hand how to make these polish delights from scratch, allowing even more appreciation for those that make them every year during this time.

Chef Dobra shows a passion about baking and pastry making, which is evident with all the tasty creations filling the cases in the front of the bakery. I look to Chef Dobra and her expertise as she taught us about the history of paczki, creating the proper dough with patience, frying these globes to a perfect golden brown and filling them with glorious jams, jellies and custards..."

"I think that I found my favorite neighbourhood bakery not in my neighbourhood. About a month ago, I visited Delightful Pastries for a cooking class with my cooking group. Chef Dobra is an amazing host and chef. She taught us the intricacies of tarts and pastry crusts with an amazing sense of humour and wit. She was so incredibly welcoming and sweet throughout the class. She treated us to hot tea, pastries from the shop, and paczkis. It was my first paczki for my Midwestern Polish self. The paczkis are buttery, light, and sweet. I enjoyed the plum butter version which my mom later revealed is a prune, but I don't care, it's damn good. After this class, I fell in love with the bakery..."

Pastry/Cooking Classes

The classes are taught by Dobra Bielinski, pastry chef and owner of Delightful Pastries and run about 2.5 hours long.

Each class range from $35 to $65 with maximum of 12 people attending.

To reserve a spot please send a check to 5927 W Lawrence Ave, Chicago IL 60630. If for any reason a class needs to be cancelled the participants will be refunded their money.

PACZKI CLASS

February 19
The ever popular class, making your own paczki and angel wings we will be stuffing and glazing our own paczki.
I will be unveiling 2 new flavors at the class with fillings that I have made inhouse.
Each Student will take 10 paczki home and a small box of angel's wings.

Class will take place at our bakery at 5927 W Lawrence, from 2PM to 5PM. Class is $50 per student.

March 10

We will make 2 custards and 2 mousses, making different trifles, parfaits and custard cups.
